Perth Corporate Rumble: Doubleview business owners prepare to battle it out in the ring for charity

DOUBLEVIEW business owners are preparing to battle it out in the ring against other professionals for charity.

Lisa Burns Training Studio and Mr Herbert’s owners Lisa Burns and partner Ben Lindegaard are taking part in the Perth Corporate Rumble on March 24, which pits 24 corporate workers against each other in the boxing ring.

Doubleview resident Jayde Van Dijken is also taking part in the boxing challenge, along with former The Bachelor star Richie Strahan and TV presenter Brett Novak. The event includes a live auction, with proceeds donated to Breast Cancer Care WA.

Organisers hope to surpass last year’s donation total of $36,000.

Ms Burns “jumped at the chance” to be involved and believed it could lead to future boxing attempts.

“I’ve always been interested in doing an amateur boxing fight. When I do something, I do it 150 per cent,” she said.

She said while it had been difficult fitting training in with work, she enjoyed the opportunity to train with Mr Lindergaard.

“It’s been a really good experience to do it together,” she said.

The trio have been part of an intense nine-week training program leading up to the event and will get to show what they have got in front of a large crowd at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“Anyone would be nervous walking out in front of 1300 people. I don’t know what to expect but I’m super-excited and looking forward to it,” she said.
