A GROUP of young North Beach neighbours are banding together to help bushfire victims.

Jabiru Court residents are holding a garage sale on February 1 in an effort to raise money for a charity to support those affected by bushfires in south-eastern Australia.

Children including eight-year-old Allegra Kell have led the initiative, offering their toys, books and bikes for sale.

“We wanted to do this garage sale because we want to help everyone affected by the fires and especially the baby koalas,” she said.

“They have no water, food or family and it is very sad.”

Sophia Gamble (7) said they wanted to do something to help and neighbour Sophia Hazife (8) has even donated a beloved toy.

“My Minnie Mouse toy was hard to give away but I know it will help the people in the fire,” she said.

Evie Zakostelsky (10) hoped money raised could go towards helping people buy a new house.

The garage sale will run from 8am on February 1 in Jabiru Court, North Beach and include children’s toys, books, child seats, bikes, scooters and cupcakes for sale.
