Perth youngster gets Australian Open experience

MANAKA Kuni (6) has experienced what most tennis players only dream about.

The Tuart Hill youngster enjoyed a hit on Rod Laver Arena during the Australian Open as part of a once in a lifetime experience.

Manaka, who trains with Tennis Central at Robertson Park Tennis Centre in Perth, was one of eight Australian children chosen to get the VIP treatment at the Grand Slam event.

She enjoyed a behind the scenes tour, met Australian player Dylan Alcott and had a hit with retired champion Alicia Molik, before watching some of the world’s best players battle it out on court.

Manaka won the all expenses paid trip through the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Future Champs competition for displaying great sportsmanship, passion and enthusiasm for tennis on and off the court.
