THE State Government has not yet provided a timeline for the rollout of a $28 million revamp of the “neglected” Osborne Park Hospital but say planning work has started.

North Metropolitan Health Service chief executive Wayne Salvage said the funding would expand obstetric and rehabilitation services and was welcomed by hospital staff.

“Work has commenced on detailed project planning, including clinical service and capital planning, as is required for all large-scale infrastructure projects of this kind,” he said.

“Once finalised and approved by the State Government, announcements will be made clarifying the timeframes for the delivery of this investment and associated service enhancements.”

During the election campaign, Mark McGowan said the hospital had been neglected by the Barnett Government.
