North Beach: police charge two women after chase in stolen car

TWO women have been charged after a police chase through Perth last night.

At around 6.30pm officers spotted a suspected stolen Volkswagen Golf on Ellingham Street in North Beach.

The car failed to stop for police and travelled through North Beach and Karrinyup , before travelling along the Mitchell Freeway, Reid Highway and Wanneroo Road.

The car was found a short time later abandoned on York Road in Greenwood.

Two of the occupants of the car were located nearby.

Police searched the vehicle and it’s alleged they found a quantity of drugs, drug paraphernalia and stolen property.

A 35-year-old woman from North Beach has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle and possessing drug paraphernalia. She will appear in Perth Magistrates Court on May 15.

A 30-year-old Katanning woman has been charged with breach of bail and giving false personal details to police. She will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.

Police are still searching for the driver of the vehicle.
