Police investigating suspicious fire in Innaloo

POLICE say they believe a fire which engulfed a kebab store and damaged an adjoining Indian restaurant and gym in Innaloo overnight was suspicious.

The blaze was reported at 1.30am and police arrived to find Safa Kebabs on the corner of Scarborough Beach Road and Odin Road on fire.

The fire spread to Indian restaurant Dhaba and Active Body Fitness next door before fire-fighters extinguished the blaze.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) informed police the fire appeared to be suspicious and the premises is being guarded ahead of the Arson Squad’s arrival.

DFES have advised smoke is no longer impacting the area.

Police are currently investigating the estimated value of the damage caused. Nobody was injured in the fire.
