But that is just what eight-year-old Angus Richards did when his friend’s bicycle chain came off just before a super series event in Northam in August.
‘Angus has a lot of BMX rider friends, younger and older, that look up to him,’ his mum Michelle Lizars said.
‘And he is always happy to help them. For example, his friend’s chain fell off just before a race start, so my son put down his bike to help his friend.’

‘He has competed at the national BMX championships in Brisbane, where he got through to the semi finals; at the WA BMX State titles this year, where he placed second, and has competed in the BMX super series which is a set of races throughout the year at various clubs.’
