Roof works at Innaloo mall a big hint that redevelopment has started

WORKS on the Westfield Innaloo western rooftop has prompted speculation as to whether the centre’s $450 million redevelopment has started.

Subscribers to the Centre’s newsletter received an email stating work to the western rooftop had begun and would see the creation of a one of a kind entry statement and the replacement of the current travelator.

The newsletter said it was business as usual for retailers including Kmart and the food court but neighbouring The Coffee Club had temporarily closed and is expected to reopen at the conclusion of work.

Despite the works, a Scentre Group spokeswoman said development was yet to commence, but it was currently in the middle of some enabling works.

The multimillion-dollar development once completed is expected to include up to 100 new stores, cinemas, al fresco piazza, several landmark brands, another 1000 bays and residential units.

City of Stirling Mayor Giovanni Italiano said the expansion of centre would play a significant part in the transformation of the Stirling City Centre into Perth’s second CBD.

All other carparks and entrances will remain open as usual.
