“He’s been my best friend ever since,” he said.

Speaking of the walk, Mr Davenport said: “From what I can see, it’s something that has never been done before.”

They left Secret Harbour on July 27 and plan to be in Dunsborough today .

“The journey has been great; it’s tough walking at times and quite enjoyable at others but we have to push on and try to reach an average of 25kms/day due to food supplies,” Mr Davenport said.

“However if we aren’t feeling like we can push on then we just look out for one another and setup camp for the evening.”

“I want to try and give a little back to the organisation that helped me find this special soul.

“What better way than through a journey much like the many other exciting journeys we’ve already been on together.

“They rely on donations and volunteers to keep their heads above water and of course the dogs they keep alive.”

Mr Davenport has raised more than $1500 for the dog shelter.
