SCARBOROUGH artist Dave Calkins is using an art exhibition to support cancer research.

Calkins is showcasing his work at The Art Garage 191 in Mt Hawthorn and auctioned off one of his pieces at the exhibition opening, donating the $700 purchase price to Cancer Council WA.

He said he knew several people who died of cancer.

“In particular, my step father died from prostate cancer, and we’ve lost a few close friends from breast and colon cancer,” he said.
