Scarborough Beach Bar closes for ‘Byron Bay-inspired’ renovations

Laura PondStirling Times

BYRON Bay will serve as the inspiration behind a revamp of Scarborough Beach Bar.

ARK Group has closed the venue for renovations after taking over in November when it was put into administration.

The bar will reopen in mid-March with a refreshed light, vibrant space and laidback atmosphere.

Renovations will be inspired by the “carefree ambience of Byron Bay” and aim to offer a place where visitors can soak up the view and enjoy a coastal pub menu with a few twists.

Director Adam Kapinkoff said he grew up in the area so it would always hold fond memories for him.

“It’s exciting to ramp things up here and refresh the space for locals while offering more options to visitors too,” he said.

“Scarborough Beach Bar has the potential to be an iconic seaside venue and I think this transformation is definitely going to showcase that.”

ARK Group reinvented neighbouring venue The Squire’s Fortune as The Peach Pit in November and also runs Market Grounds, The Duke, Durty Nelly’s and The Generous Squire.
