Scarborough buildings making way for towers development

Laura PondStirling Times

NOT much remains of the former Scarborough Fair Markets as work to clear the site for 3 Oceans’ towers development continues.

Workers have demolished most of the eastern side of the lot, with the old Contacio bar site and several retailers along Scarborough Beach Road remaining for the time being.

Brajkovich Demolition is in its second week at the site and 3 Oceans expected site clearing works to take about two months and cost $500,000.

The Chinese developer received approval in June to build Iconic Scarborough, a 43-storey and 33-storey development comprising a hotel, apartments, restaurants, coastal experience centre, observation deck and exhibition hall.
