SPORT and fashion will merge as part of collaboration between Nexus Risk TSA Group WA Open and Scarborough designer Lauren Chaplin next month.

The Fashionable Saturdays Ladies Long Luncheon at the Royal Perth Golf Club will have the pint-sized pocket rocket launch her label LJ Chaplin’s summer collection.

Chaplin, who took some time away from the industry after starting in 2013, said she feeling refreshed and ready to get back into it.

“When I initially launched, I was taking a gamble as I was entering the fashion world from a completely different industry, so any success I received I deemed as a bonus,” she said.

“After a busy 12 months, a career promotion at my place of work, combined with a bout of heartbreak, the label was at a standstill.

“Earlier this year I took on a new role in sport at GolfWA and I have been able to dedicate more time to the label and I feel refreshed, re-energised and my designs reflect this.”

A keen golfer and netballer, Chaplin said she loved that she was able to combine her two passions of sport and fashion to create an event women would enjoy and believed her love of sport shone through in her designs.

“It’s a day where fashion and sport collide.

“Being involved in sport, my designs are classic, reliable and quality go-to pieces that will not let you down.

“Similar to how you rely on your teammate on the netball court to shoot the goal or that Callaway driver you invested in to ensure you hit long and straight down the fairway.

“The latter I’m sure is debatable for some golfers out there.”

Guests will enjoy a two-course luncheon with beverage selections and fashion moments by fellow WA labels Jessica Bratich and Jonté, as well as a learn from stylist Juvelle Behrendorff.
