Scarborough Esplanade Foreshore reopens to two-way traffic

Staff WriterStirling Times

THE $100 million Scarborough Foreshore redevelopment is on track, with the Esplanade reopening to two-way traffic on Tuesday.

The reopening was on schedule, with project delivery executive director Sean Henriques saying major works will be complete by April.

“Major works will all be complete in time for the Aussie Surf Life Saving Championships (in April) when thousands of local and interstate visitors flock to the revitalised Scarborough Beach,” Mr Henriques said last month.

The beach hub, comprising Scarboro Surf Life Saving Club, the City of Stirling’s beach services, pool and dining options, will give access to the beach and esplanade across two levels, and is expected to open along with other major works by April.

The inter-generational plaza, known as the Snake Pit, is scheduled to open early next year.
