President Ben Walker said the team was back on track and excited to welcome new coach and former Subiaco Football Club player Aidan Parker.

“Aidan is one of the great WAFL players of the last 25 years and has a huge amount of experience, combined with a major passion for the game,” Walker said.

“He has always been successful in his footy pursuits and he is able to pass that on to the younger guys at the club.

Parker said he hoped to bring the flag back to Scarborough AFC.

“I’m waiting to see just how big the step up is from B to A. I reckon we’ve got the basis of a really good side but the last thing we want to do is come up and not perform, so we’ll certainly be aiming for finals,” he said.

Parker brings with him an impressive 15-year resume, including three WAFL premierships as captain of Subiaco. Starting out at Carine Junior Football Club, he made his senior WAFL debut for the Lions against Perth in round one of the 2001 season.

Parker played every game at Subiaco between 2006 and 2009, including the club’s 2006, 2007 and 2008 premiership victories.
