FAMILIES can enjoy free films under the stars in Scarborough.

Community group Bend in the Road is launching an outdoor movies series from February 8.

Chairman David Wray said the films were free with City of Stirling support at Scarborough Community Hub’s amphitheatre on Gildercliffe Street.

“It’s simply about kicking back with your family and neighbours,” he said.

“If it all works well and the demand is there, we’d certainly like to look at making this a regular low-cost event to help fund a range of local projects.”

Movie schedule:

February 8 – Strictly Ballroom

February 23 – My Life as a Zucchini

March 9 – Jumanji

March 23 – Tomorrow

Details: Gates open at 7pm, films start at 7.45pm.
BYO picnic, blankets, lawn chairs and beanbags.
