Scarborough Police investigating overnight thefts from vehicles in Doubleview

SCARBOROUGH Police are investigating two counts of stealing from motor vehicles in Doubleview overnight.

About 1.30am, an iPad was stolen from a vehicle parked on the driveway of a Princess Road home.

Between 1am and 2am, another vehicle was broken into on a road verge in Ravenscar Street, where offenders took a handbag and clothing.

Senior Sergeant Glenn Dowding said the incidents were linked because they were the only incidents that happened at the time.

“One of (the house owners) rang up at 1.44am so they obviously heard something around 1.30am and realised something was happening,” he said.

“The other one rang up at 5.30am this morning; they discovered (the theft had happened) when they got up.”
