A St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School student with a passion for geography will represent Australia at the 2017 International Geography Olympiad in Serbia this August.

Teale Lyon (17) who was named the top female geography student in WA in the Australian Geography Competition in December, will travel to the International Olympiad for the best 16 to 19-year-old geography students from all over the world.

The competition consists of three parts; a written test, a multimedia test, and fieldwork with geographical analysis.

“…I am looking forward to Serbia and meeting other geo-minded students from the other 44 different countries.”

The 14th International Geography Olympiad will run from August 2-8.
