FOUR people have been taken to hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out near a shopping centre this afternoon.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services received a call about a vehicle fire near Francis Avenue and Karrinyup Road at 12.59pm.
A DFES spokesperson said a scissor lift was on fire, which broke out on a construction site at Karrinyup shopping centre.

READ NOWA St John spokesperson said six people were treated for smoke inhalation and four were taken to hospital.
The spokesperson said two people were taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, one taken to Royal Perth Hospital and one was taken to Joondalup Health Campus.
There were four fire appliances at the scene, from Osborne Park and Duncraig Fire and Rescue service.
A DFES spokesperson said the damage was estimated to be $10,000.
