FOUR cheerleaders from St Peter’s Primary School in Inglewood have qualified for the international championships after topping the WA competition.

Stunt cheerleaders Alissia Shipard and sister Madison Shipard, Eva King and Imogen Eames won four out of five titles during the one-year qualification period.

Mum Robin King said the team had the highest accumulated score in the WA youth division level one team for stunts.

The girls, also best friends, said they started cheerleading at a young age and were excited to travel to Gold Coast.

Ms King’s daughter Eva said the team trained twice a week.

Another mum Monica Shipard said the girls loved doing stunts and competing together.

“The girls just really enjoy it because it is fun, fast and it is always moving and they get to do a lot of skills,” Ms Shipard said.

The Aussie Gold International Cheer and Dance Championships will be held from July 8 to 10 in the Gold Coast.
