A HUSBAND and wife building company producing 35 homes a year now has another accolade to its name.
Rebecca and Angelo Rossi have built Ultimo Constructions from a team of two to six in about nine years and this month won the top gong at the Stirling Business Association’s annual awards.
“It was very overwhelming; didn’t expect it at all,” Rebecca said before telling the Times what she thought caught the judges’ eye. “I think our overall understanding of different aspects of running a business: our systems, processes, marketing and looking after our people, our team.”
The couple, who specialise in duplex and triplex sites and custom-built homes, started Ultimo from a home office before moving to their own premises in Balcatta.
Winning the professional builder category for WA in 2017 is just one of several awards they have received from the Housing Industry Association.
“We’ve been able to grow in a downtime; we’ve pulled through and succeeded so far,” Rebecca said. “The year ahead looks good.”
She put the success down to “our high-performance team”, “good customer service” and referrals.
“We pride ourselves on delivering a personalised and premium service,” she said.
They use 50 to 100 subcontractors to support their work and do it all while raising three children aged six to 10.
