STIRLING piano player Jinnry Zhuang has had his first international performance at just seven-years-old.

The Year 2 Hale School student was invited to perform at the Golden Key Festival in New York last month.

“It was very fun but I was a little nervous,” he said.

“I try to think of something else and I just think of playing the piano.”

He played at the prestigious Carnegie Hall after winning gold for his audition piece.

Jinnry started learning piano two years ago and said he was “always excited” to play.

His mother Ling was initially hesitant when he asked to learn piano as she had a bad experience as a child.

She said she was surprised how quickly he picked it up and late last year his teacher suggested he enter the competition.

“It happened so fast,” she said.

“He works and tried very hard.

“You can feel his passion.”
