Bella Faraone and Kate van Bentum said they had seen Mr Ariff’s story and felt compelled to help the 35-year-old, who has cerebral palsy.

‘We thought that it was a great idea to raise money for his holiday,’ Bella said.

‘It made people realise how lucky they are to go on holiday very easily.’

The bake sale raised $110 towards Mr Ariff’s dream of visiting Queensland on a holiday later this year.

‘Why should Immy be disadvantaged and not able to go on holiday just because of his disability,’ she said.

‘Having a disability shouldn’t stop somebody being able to enjoy all the fun of a holiday, especially to the Gold Coast.’

Mr Ariff is close to halfway of his $6000 target, and said he’s been overwhelmed by the community’s response, including a $400 donation from Balcatta MLA Chris Hatton.
