Padbury resident Peter Jovic developed swellsup.com with the intention of publishing photographs of all surfers, regardless of their skill level.
‘The fact that people are able to view an image of themselves, they can just log on, have a look, they don’t need to subscribe, they just click on a gallery and there might be a photo of them and that’s the real basis of the site.’
The father of two said he left work in construction safety after becoming disillusioned with the industry and decided to build a website devoted to local surfers.

Mr Jovic, a surfer for more than 25 years, said he’d received a lot of positive feedback about the site.
‘I’ve been talking to a lot of people in the car park or even just out on the water and some people say it’s bringing the stoke back in the line-up’
