A surfer since he was 13, 39-year-old web developer Ray Stone was frustrated with the range of surf forecasting apps on the market and decided to take action, creating first the Swellcast website almost 12 months ago, and now the Swellcast app.

The Swellcast App is available on iPhone and iPad, and with the Android version set to be released in three weeks, Mr Stone said the app paired the next available swell and wind forecast point with the most recent wind observations in a user-friendly way.

‘Most forecast apps act as scaled down versions of the charts and information on their websites,’ he said.
