In 1961, the Scarborough Sportsman’s Club put a proposal to the Shire council to construct tennis courts and a pavilion at Abbett Park on Deanmore Road, and on November 5, 1963, the facilities were officially handed over to the Scarborough Tennis Club.
Celebrations will begin with an anniversary dinner on November 9, and the club invites all past and present members to join in.
