Man in court over terrifying home invasion

AN alleged burglar accused of carrying out a terrifying home invasion in Yokine has appeared in court.

Police allege Meles Aldaw and two co-accused attacked one man with blunt weapons, and threatened to cut off a victim’s finger with an angle grinder.

Police say they assaulted three victims and demanded money and property before leaving the house with jewellery and cash on June 6.

The 20-year-old from Carlisle was charged with aggravated home burglary and commit.

He is also facing charges of aggravated armed robbery and detaining another with intent to gain a benefit.

He was remanded back into custody with no application for bail and is due to appear in court via video link on July 26.

His two co-accused were due to appear in Perth Children’s Court today.
