In two separate incidents, a month apart from one another, the Churchlands SHS community lost 16-year-old Preston Bridge and 17-year-old Joshua Zinni-Forbes.

Preston died on February 18, after consuming synthetic LSD while celebrating at his school ball after-party and then falling from a balcony in Scarborough. The tragedy brought heartbreak to Preston’s friends, family and the school community.

Four weeks later on March 17, that grief was felt once again when Joshua died after accidentally shooting himself in the chest while hunting rabbits on a property near Gingin.

The boys’ families attended the tree planting ceremony with Preston’s father Rodney saying it was a wonderful day and a great way for Preston and Joshua’s memory to live on.
