RIDING for the Disabled Association (RDA) of WA in Carine is holding an open day on September 30 from 9.30am to 12.30pm to raise money to support its operations.
RDA Carine is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers that provides opportunities for people with disabilities and special needs to enjoy therapeutic horse-related activities.
Administrator Jenny Loftus said the centre had 125 riders with disabilities per week.
“Horse-riding is a great form of physical exercise which not only benefits those with a wide range of disabilities therapeutically, but it is also fun,” she said.
The Leeming resident said the fundraiser would include pony rides, a sausage sizzle and stalls with items for sale.
“The pony rides will be $5, sausage sizzle $2.50 and other items various prices, with all monies raised going to RDA Carine Group,” Mrs Loftus said.
RDA Carine is also looking for volunteers aged 14 and over who are available any day from Tuesday to Saturday mornings during school terms.
