True meaning of Easter

The Rev Dr Margaret CourtStirling Times

It is a wonderful family time to look at the reason why Jesus died for all mankind.

God so loved the world that he came into the Earth through His son, Jesus Christ, to establish His covenant of salvation.

This was so that all mankind could have a relationship with Him here on Earth and to know His love and presence, and to be a part of His family.

His death, burial and resurrection are a celebration time, for He is the resurrected Christ, not still on the cross. He brought healing, forgiveness, blessing and love to a lost and dying world. No other blood has been shed for the world to be saved.

Jesus is the reason we live.

In the Book of Genesis, Chapter 1, verse 27, it tells us that God created man in His own image.

‘In the image of God He created him, male and female, He created them.’

He died and rose so that we can walk here on earth with Him and know the power of His resurrection and forgiveness. Easter brought good news to all mankind ” to know God’s love, peace and joy.
