Unsecured premises easy pickings

A police spokesman said between 8.30pm on April 5 and 4.30am on April 6, five burglaries were committed in Doubleview and Karrinyup.

He said a white Suzuki Swift was stolen from a Grand Promenade, Doubleview premises after the keys were stolen from inside the home.

"In Worner Crescent, Karrinyup, an offender entered a residence through an unlocked garage door and entered a bedroom where a man and woman were woken," he said.

The man chased the offender, who escaped in the stolen Suzuki Swift, police said.

The offender was described as a slim man about 25-30 years old with olive skin.

Police officers found the Suzuki abandoned on April 7 on Dunrossil Street, Wembley Downs.

The spokesman said this series of burglaries was a timely reminder for residents to keep their doors and windows secure at all times.
