“Our members range in age from 18 years all the way to late 70s, and it is truly a hobby and passion that can last a lifetime.

“We sing in the a cappella style, which means unaccompanied – only our voices are used as instruments, with a focus on barbershop competition but also contemporary songs that can wow the audience.”

After competing in the National Barbershop competition in Melbourne last year, the group will perform two songs arranged in the Barbershop style to an audience of 9000.

Mr Jamison said the group would perform a new song as well as a barbershop classic.

“This year, we have chosen to sing You Can Fly from the movie Peter Pan; a brand new arrangement written specifically for our group to debut at the international competition,” he said.

Vocal Evolution will hold a farewell performance on June 25.
