Labor’s David Michael has not yet arrived at the event but the newcomer and “Tuart Hill boy” will snatch the seat of Balcatta from Liberal incumbent Chris Hatton.

Hatton claimed the tradition Labor stronghold at the 2013 election.

The youngest person elected to the City of Stirling council at 25 years of age in 2005, Michael has claimed 56.1 per cent of the 65.7 per cent of votes counted in the seat so far.
