DESPITE a massive Labor victory across the board, Scarborough MLA Liza Harvey managed to retain her seat with 55.06 per cent of the two-party preferred vote.

Ms Harvey claimed 47.30 per cent of the primary vote against Labor newcomer Tony Walker’s 29.94 per cent.

Ms Harvey was not available for interview at the time of going to print but sent a message of support to the people of Scarborough.

“I would like to thank the people in the Scarborough electorate for their ongoing support, especially all the volunteers who helped out on Saturday,” she said.

“I love this area and I will continue to fight hard for our community in the WA Parliament.”

Ms Harvey did not comment on whether she would put herself forward for the Liberal Party leadership.

Carine MLA Tony Krsticevic also retained his seat.
