A WEMBLEY Downs builder has been fined for licence lending.
The Building Services Board fined Peter Clyde Carman $4000 for a building permit application submitted to the City of Karratha in 2014, which named him as the registered builder contractor.
The owner did not believe Mr Carman was the builder who signed the building work contract and had no contact with him throughout construction.

READ NOWBuilding Commission acting executive director Ian Munns said this was known as licence lending.
“The unauthorised practice resulted in Mr Carman having no input into the building work other than signing the building permit application,” he said.
“Mr Carman therefore failed to fulfil his obligations as the registered building contractor.
“Mr Carman’s conduct could have had serious consequences for building owners, including unsatisfactory building work and significant personal and financial loss.”
