A SELF-proclaimed battler from Westminster has come forward to claim his $1.4 million in prize money after Saturday’s Lotto win.

The winning ticket, sold at Westminster Pharmacy and News, was one of three division one tickets sold in WA and brings the State’s annual total to a whopping 30 division one wins.

The other two division one-winning tickets sold in WA on the weekend – at Medical Centre News and Lotteries in Nedlands and Mandurah’s Greenfields Newsagency – are yet to be claimed.

The Westminster winner said he and his wife had hardly slept in the days since winning the prize money.

“It’s taken us a while to get here because we didn’t quite believe it at first,” the man said.

“We haven’t celebrated, we haven’t told anyone and we haven’t slept.”

The man said the winning ticket was purchased on a whim and he decided to choose his own numbers – for the first time.

“I’d love to tell you there was some special formula but the truth is I picked six numbers at random and crossed my fingers,” he said.

“I couldn’t tell you what they were but I’m bloody glad I chose them.”

The two unclaimed tickets are also worth $1.4 million each.
