POLICE have arrested a 21-year-old Westminster man after a high-speed helicopter chase down the Mitchell Freeway.
Police allege the man was riding a motorcycle at speed north along the Mitchell Freeway near Powis Street about 11.15am today.
The man failed to stop for police and was followed by a helicopter and officers in vehicles to the intersection of Erindale and Balcatta roads.
As the bike was stopped at traffic lights, officers successfully blocked the motorbike and apprehended the rider after ran away.

The man was charged with failing to stop, reckless driving and having no authority to drive.
He will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on May 17.
