The wild weather over the weekend played havoc with Perth’s coastline.

Port Beach was closed and the City of Stirling was forced to close access to an eroded beach at Mettams Pool in North Beach.

It sealed off four staircases to the popular swimming and surfing spot.

One surfer told Community News sand was eroded from around the stairs in Saturday’s 7m swell.

“The high tide was 50cm higher than expected,” he said.
