Winter Cinema to warm up Main Street

COSY up for a free movies series in Osborne Park in July.

Main Street Co-Op is launching the Winter Cinema to encourage people to continue to support Main Street during the colder months.

Chairwoman Colleen Thompson said Osborne Park Agricultural Society was providing use of its hall, which was previously used for film screenings.

“We want to support our local business and vibrancy on Main Street by creating great reasons for our community to come out – especially in winter when it gets cold, dark, and we all want to hibernate,” she said.

“When we discovered that historically the Ag Hall was used for a winter cinema, we knew it was meant to be.”

The screenings on July 12 and 13 will kick off with a Friday night ‘date night’ showing of Notting Hill from 8.30pm.

Children’s favourite Finding Nemo will screen on Saturday morning at 9.30am then that night families are encouraged to get together for Armageddon at 8.30pm.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase and local businesses will be offering specials.
