Woman allegedly attacked at beach picnic

Laura PondStirling Times

A WOMAN allegedly punched another woman and pulled her hair while she was enjoying a sunset picnic with friends at Scarborough Beach.

The 30-year-old victim, from Karrinyup, was with a large group of friends picnicking at the northern end of Scarborough foreshore on September 12 when the suspect confronted her at about 5.45pm.

Police said the 19-year-old Cockburn woman threw sand at the victim, pulled her hair and punched her in the face after believing she had been talking about her in Spanish.

Two of the alleged offender’s friends intervened and pulled her away but she later returned with two men.
