Woman charged with aiding escaped prisoner

A WOMAN has been charged with aiding serial prison escapee Laurie Dodd while he was on the run from police custody.

Mr Dodd, who has a history of escaping custody, fled from Royal Perth Hospital about 12.40pm on September 21.

Regional Investigations Unit detectives have now charged a woman who they say helped Dodd on September 23.

 

Police caught the 44-year-old near the Galleria Shopping Centre and a tavern in Morley last Wednesday following a chase.

A 40-year-old Scarborough woman has been charged with aiding a man who had escaped legal custody.

She is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates’ Court on October 15.
