Zonta Club to auction unique wooden trays

Denise S. CahillStirling Times

THE Zonta Club of Perth Northern Suburbs is auctioning uniquely painted and decorated wooden trays to raise money for the Patricia Giles Centre.

The auction will be at The Boulevard Centre, Floreat on Saturday, November 26 from 2pm to coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is recognised the day prior.

Money raised will help the Patricia Giles Centre continue its Camps program that provides counselling, education and support to women and their children who have witnessed and-or experienced family violence.

Shirley Winstanley, who has decorated one of the trays, said she had painted an image of children on a beach for her sister who spent six months in hospital.

“She enjoyed using the tray every day and so I thought the same happy image might also be of interest to someone at the auction.”
