Billboard shock

WE have lived in this suburb for 40 years. A lot has changed, some good, some not so – which brings me to the corner of Main and Scarborough Beach roads.

When I heard and saw the demolition of the shops there, I was told it was to be a park.

My thoughts were: great, it will complement the new car yard opposite and safety wise it gives a clearer view for motorists.

To my horror, the council allowed two huge billboards smack in the middle, no doubt making a larger profit.

It is a total eyesore and reduces safety by being extremely distracting to drivers.

I thought Stirling council was against roadside advertising?
