City of Stirling sees only what it wants to see

Carlo Meleca, BalcattaStirling Times

AS usual, the City of Stirling will trumpet anything it does as a “resounding success” – regardless of the reality. If anyone disagrees the council simply “closes” the matter.

Take for example, the tree-planting program. In reality, some trees on my street have been replanted up to four times, while on an adjoining street four semi-established, well-entrenched trees have simply been “ironed out” by a passing vehicle.

The program has done little more than attract mindless vandals on to our property (I cannot speak for other suburbs).

Before the tree program commenced, my mother’s request or an exemption was denied on the grounds her reasons were “implausible”. Ironically, one of her reasons was vandalism.
