Debt crisis a myth

Our Federal Government is concocting a false crisis to bring down a Budget to meet its own ideological ends.

Australia currently has a AAA credit rating and is the envy of many countries around the globe.

Australia, like most western countries, does have a long-term issue in terms of our ageing population, but a comprehensive overhaul of our taxation system, such as has already been undertaken in the Henry Review in 2009, is required to address that issue, and certainly not the draconian recommendations set out by the Commission of Audit.
