GWELUP reader Verne Sharpe sent this photo of the giant Gymea lily in his garden.
Mr Sharpe said the plant had flowered for the first time in eight years.
“The flower spike is 6m high and well above the house,” he said.
“It has taken seven months for the spike to reach this height and has survived the heat, wind and rain.
“My main concern is how do I cut it and find a vase big enough to display it?”
