Opinion: Blower fetish now afflicting council workers

Does anyone know what this relatively recent affliction is that can affect those who mow lawns?

The one I’m referring to is what I call ‘the blower fetish’.

After accomplishing mowing the lawn the person uses a blower to remove mown grass from paths or edges.

This is then blown onto the road. I’ve now seen local council workers affected by ‘the blower fetish’.

I don’t understand it and am holding out hope I can resist this troubling malady.
