THE Anzac Day dawn commemorative service conducted at the new Charles Riley community garden was a credit to the North Beach RSL sub-branch and that of the Scarborough RSL sub-branch with their traditional afternoon service held at the Doubleview Bowling Club Memorial.
The thousands who attended presented a community spirit of both respect and courtesy in remembrance not only to the 100 years since the Gallipoli landings but also to the events that followed and to those who have served.
I would like to acknowledge the fantastic effort of the RSL sub-branches of North Beach and Scarborough who conducted very professional and community-engaging events.
