Shame on Council: Feed Box Markets

HOW good was it to wake up on a Saturday morning, walk down to the Scarborough foreshore to the Feed Box markets and see the families, young people, single people, lonely people, tourists, swimmers, stall owners and musicians enjoying the morning.

The atmosphere was wonderful and to think this was all due to the determination of two wonderful women and their families trying to give something back to the City.

It is a shame then that the council could not find the same level of enthusiasm to support this event.

As I understand it, the Brighton Road site merely required the installation of a suitable power outlet and this fantastic community free event could have continued.

The only thing more insipid than this was the Mayor’s response.

I wonder if it had been a Mercedes dealership he may have shown a little more ‘enthusiasm’ to help?
