Karrinyup, 26 Luccombe Way – $900,000s

Open for viewing this Thursday at 4.30pm to 5.15pm, this private family home is ideal for those who enjoy quiet time with the ones they love.

“We bought the house five years ago after our family outgrew our previous home,” the owner said.

“We were looking for a comfortable family home with a pool and lots of space for the kids to play outside.”

The present owners are only the second family to enjoy the home, which was built in 1976.

“When we first viewed the house, I recall being attracted to its elevated position and the kitchen area, which overlooks the pool and makes it possible to watch the kids as they play outside,” the owner said.

“However, the house was definitely a typical Karrinyup home of the 1970s, with arched doorways and plenty of exposed brown brick.

“Over the past five years we have lived here, the house has undergone many changes and it has been a pleasure to see it transform into a bright, open-plan, highly functional family home.”

Renovations include installation of the Tasmanian oak timber flooring this year, a completely new kitchen with stone benchtops, revamped bathrooms, and a refurbished laundry.

It now features a practical floor plan centred on an open-plan meals area and kitchen with a sunken living area alongside, which also features a gas fireplace with sandstone cladding.

This free-flowing space also extends easily out to the alfresco entertaining area, which has easy-care paved flooring, a patio for barbecues and outdoor dining, and a very inviting fenced pool.

“We thoroughly enjoy the many summer afternoons we have spent in the pool as a family and with friends just mucking around,” the owner said.

“Our children also love the family room at the back of the house overlooking the pool – they have their own space where they have hosted many sleepover birthday parties.”

Completing the layout are the generous bedrooms – three children’s bedrooms centred on a family bathroom, separate toilet and the laundry, as well as the front master bedroom with ensuite.

The feature-packed residence also comes with a solar hot-water system, ceiling fans, new lighting and a hard-to-beat location.
